The Coney Island Inn has been feeding downtown Mansfield for generations. Booths, a long counter, the smell of chili simmering before sunrise — this is the kind of diner you remember from childhood, because for a lot of us in Richland County, it's exactly where we ate as kids.

The menu is short on pretense and long on choices: World Famous Coneys (regular, King, or the legendary Footlong), award-winning chili, quarter-pound burgers, full breakfast served all day, blue-plate dinners with two sides, and an old soda-fountain dessert case stocked with rice pudding, pie, and root beer floats.

Cash, card, or tap — the prices haven't caught up to the rest of the world, and the regulars wouldn't have it any other way.
